WORCESTER – George Mackie, a 57-year-old-man from Groton convicted of two counts of rape of a child, has been found sexually dangerous.

A jury in Worcester Superior Court delivered the decision this week.

An examiner testified that Mackie was likely to re-offend due to suffering from pedophilia and and should be confined to a secure facility.

Mackie was committed to one day to life at the Massachusetts Treatment Center at Bridgewater. Should there be a change in his evaluation, Mackie would have the right to appeal for his release.
