Saturday night is the night for ArtsWorcester’s one-of-a-kind, off the wall, hands-on “FUN”- draiser to benefit the organization and it’s programming.
Make a Run for It at Art on the Line 1

Artwork by Trish Hegedus

A unique, fast paced, interactive exhibition, “There are paintings and photographs and prints and drawings and mixed media and collage,” says Juliet Feibel, Executive Director of ArtsWorcester” and the only thing they have in common is their size.”
Art on the Line features hundreds of original 5″ x 7″ and 8″ x 10″ artworks, suspended throughout the gallery, with art lovers selecting pieces for themselves, right off the line, at a cost of $20 and $30 per piece.
Passionate art aficionados who are interested in the “Filene’s Basement” mad dash feature of the gallery doors opening, may purchase a First-In-Line ticket ($40) for the 5:00pmpriority admission, and the best chance at getting the art you want.  Next-In-Line ticket ($20) holders may enter the gallery at 5:20pm, and everyone may begin lining up outside the gallery at 4:30pm.  Serious art shoppers may view the artworks online at, pick their favorites, and dash to the lines for them!
In addition to the art hung and sold on the lines, there is an art raffle, featuring donated works by some of the regions leading artists.  These thirteen pieces are all shapes, sizes, and mediums, and allow guests the opportunity to take a chance on winning another original work of art.
The quality of the work, and the number of pieces donated to this event is testament to ArtsWorcesters role in the creative landscape of our city.  True to their mission of promoting local artists, and giving them the experience and credentials to move forward, this particular event engages much of their membership and supporters.  Additionally, the show offers benefit to the greater Worcester community by bringing an affordable way for anyone to purchase a piece of art – maybe their first piece of art – and by bringing a creative, cultural experience to many who would not otherwise have the opportunity to be a part of something like this.
