WORCESTER – Late Friday night, 28-year-old Charles Jensen, of 54 Raymond St., was arrested outside of Frank’s, a bar on Shrewsbury St., for pointing a gun at a patron.
Around 9:15 PM, Worcester Police responded to Frank’s at 274 Shrewsbury Street for an assault that involved a handgun. Several police officers responded to the call.
According to the WPD, the officers met with a 54-year-old victim that told said he was drinking inside Frank’s. When the victim was leaving, Jensen and another unidentified male followed the victim out. Jensen then entered a motor vehicle and then exited after a brief moment and walked towards the victim. Jensen pulled a gun out from his coat and pointed it at the victim.
Jensen racked a round in the chamber and the victim ran off. After meeting with the officers, the victim said Jensen was still inside the bar. When officers were speaking to the victim, they witnessed Jensen leaving the bar.
Several WPD officers approached Jensen and secured him while the investigation at the scene continued.A search of Jensen produced negative results. Jensen was uncooperative with the officers when asked about the allegations.
The victim pointed out the vehicle that Jensen went into. Officers looked through the window and observed a black backpack on top of the passenger seat. The backpack was partially open and the officer could see part of a firearm holster sticking out. The vehicle belonged to the other male that walked out with Jensen. The male gave consent for the officers to search the vehicle. The search did not produce the firearm. Officers feared that the firearm may be hidden inside the bar. Officers and members of the Alcohol Enforcement Unit entered the bar and asked all the patrons for identification. At this time one of the patrons provided information to the officers where the firearm was hidden. The firearm was located in a purse of female patron that was not involved in the altercation.
