WORCESTER – A man with a butcher knife, running on Southbridge St. on Thursday, May 20, is receiving treatment at a local hospital.
Police responded to a report of a man with a butcher knife in the area near the Worcester Fire Station on Southbridge St. around 2:15 PM.
Officers spoke with the man, who was acting aggressively during the encounter, according to police.
The man reportedly did not calm down and police eventually deployed a taser, which compelled him to drop the knife. Police then took the man into custody.
Police did not announce any charges against the man but said he was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
