Man Riding Stolen Dirt Bike on Worcester Streets Arrested

WORCESTER – The Worcester Police Neighborhood Response Team was dispatched to the Union Station area after complaints of reckless drivers operating motorized vehicles on Tuesday, March 23.

According to police, two groups of dirt bike riders drove through Washington Square, in and out of traffic at full speed, going through red lights. The riders forced drivers to brake suddenly and take evasive action to avoid crashing.

Police followed the dirt bike riders to Green Hill Park and attempted to engage them when some got off their bikes. The riders attempted to flee.

One rider allegedly struck an officer with the bike as he rode away. Others fled on foot. Officers were able to arrest one individual, 18-year-old De’Marion Sarfo.

Officers recovered four bikes. Sarfo was riding a bike reported stolen in Webster. Another rider was on a bike stolen from a Worcester home.

Sarfo faces charges of:

  • Receiving Stolen Property over $1200
  • Disorderly Conduct
  • Operating a Recreational Vehicle on a Public Way
  • Unregistered Recreational Vehicle
  • Operating a Recreational Vehicle Recklessly
