UXBRIDGE – Massachusetts State Police [MSP] responded to a two-vehicle crash on Route 146 in Uxbridge on Saturday, December 4, that left a man dead at the scene.

Troopers arrived at the scene shortly before 10 PM to find the driver of a 2004 Honda Accord, Jonathan Marmol, 35, of Woonsocket, RI. First responders determined he died at the scene.

While headed southbound on Route 146, Marmol’s Honda crossed the median and into the northbound side, striking a 2018 Subaru Outback driven by a 62-year-old man. The driver of the Subaru received treatment at the scene for minor injuries.

The crash led to Route 146 northbound being closed for around three hours. Rhode Island police assisted by diverting traffic headed north before drivers reached the state line.

The case remains under investigation. Why the Honda crossed over the media has not been determined.

Along with MSP, the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, the State Police Crime Scene Services Section, and Rhode Island State Police, MASS DOT, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, Uxbridge Police and Fire Departments and the North Smithfield Fire Department all supported the response and investigation.
