WORCESTER – Police arrested 48-year-old Miquel Martinez on Saturday, June 29, on drug charges.
According to the Worcester Police Department, officers monitoring the Alden Street side of Castle Park when they saw Martinez remove a rock-like substance. He allegedly placed the substance on the stone wall there and broke it into pieces.
He then distributed the substance to those around him and began to smoke it.
As officers approached the individuals, they began to leave the park. Officers detained Martinez after they say he reached down to the ground in an attempt to hide the drugs.
A search of Martinez led to officers allegedly finding a bag with a substance in his right shoe they believed had a cocaine base.
The bag had between seven and 10 grams of substance inside.
Martinez was arrested and faces charges of Possession of a Class B Substance and Possession of Class B Substance with Intent to Distribute.
