Mass Pirates Players at Scene of Wisconsin Double Murder

Massachusetts Pirates players were inside a Wisconsin restaurant on Saturday evening, May 1, when a man opened fire, killing two and wounding a third. Police shot and killed the man outside the restaurant.

Multiple sources from the team confirmed no injuries to team players or staff occurred during the incident.

The Pirates are in Wisconsin for a for its season opener on Sunday, May 2, at 4:05 PM against the Green Bay Blizzard.

Players were at the Duck Creek Kitchen and Bar, located inside the Green Bay Radisson Hotel & Conference Center at the Oneida Casino. The casino is near the Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport.

The team was staying at the Radisson Hotel ahead of its game on Sunday.

According to WBAY in Green Bay, the Brown County Sheriff’s Office says multiple law enforcement agencies responded to a report received around 7:30 PM of shots fired at the restaurant.

The Sheriff’s Office also says the gunman was targeting a specific victim who wasn’t present at the restaurant. The man shot and killed two of the intended victim’s friends. Medical personnel flew a third victim with serious injuries to a Milwaukee hospital for surgery.
