MassDOT issues Advisory on Travel During Winter Storm

 by Tom MarinoJanuary 26, 2021

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation [MassDOT] advises that the National Weather Service [NWS] predicts the winter storm landing on Tuesday, January 26, will bring a moderate amount of snow overnight into Wednesday afternoon. NWS predicts further snow showers Wednesday evening.

The NWS expects accumulation to be between four and eight inches.

MassDOT warns travellers that accumulations may create challenging travel conditions, and each driver should slow down, use caution, wear a seatbelt, minimize distractions, turn off or put away cellphones and devote full attention to what is ahead on the road.

MassDOT’s snow and ice operations will deploy throughout the state as conditions require.
