WORCESTER – Police arrested a third suspect in the shooting of a 17-yar-old male on Feb. 12.
On Monday, July 29, officers arrested Patrick Mathieu, 22, of Worcester, for outstanding warrants in connection with a fatal shooting on Shannon Street. Mathieu faces charges of:
- Armed Assault to Murder;
- Assault and Battery with a Firearm;
- Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License;
- Use of a Firearm while Committing a Felony;
- Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Dwelling;
- Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card; and
- Armed Assault to Rob.
As This Week in Worcester previously reported, police arrested Kidam Oquendo, 21, of Worcester, on Friday, Feb. 23, on charges similar the charges against Mathieu. On the same day, police arrested Alexis Medeiros, 18, of Gardner, on charges of Accessory After the Fact and Obstruction of Justice.
On Feb. 12, police responded to a Shotspotter activation on Shannon Street shortly after 3 AM. Police did not locate a victim, but discovered a 17-year-old teen at a local hospital with a gunshot wound. The teen was pronounced dead at the hospital.
