WORCESTER – The Mayor of Worcester is lending his words in support of the Miss Worcester Diner after the popular breakfast spot — and Worcester landmark — received a cease and desist order from Harley-Davidson.

On Friday evening, Mayor Joe Petty posted on his Facebook page a message to Jesse Johnson — the Brand Protection lead for Harley-Davidson — asking for the company to reconsider their stance on having the diner take down a painted Harley-Davidson logo from the back of their diner car.

Mayor Petty even went so far to invite Johnson to breakfast at the diner in hopes to convince him further.

As ThisWeekinWorcester.com reported, the diner’s owner Kim Kniskern received a letter from Harley-Davidson that said, in part:

A petition was created in support of Kniskern, the mural artist Tony Freitas and the diner. As of Saturday morning, more than 3,000 people had signed it.
