Major League Baseball [MLB] has announced a reorganization of Minor League Clubs to 120 teams total, across four affiliates for each team. Those teams will compete at levels now named Triple-A, Double-A, High-A and Low-A levels.
According to MLB, the new alignment will come with player salary increases, higher facilities standards, reduced travel and better geographical alignment.

The Lowell Spinners, formerly a Class A Short Season affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, were not selected to continue as an affiliate team in MLB’s reorganization.
