Easter is just around the corner and the religious holiday will be celebrated throughout the country and across the globe.
In Massachusetts, it appears Bay Staters will be waiting for the Easter Bunny while stuffing their faces with marshmallow and sugar.
In their latest report, the team at Zippia has identified the most popular Easter treat in each state, and Massachusetts is among eight states that snack on bunny and chick-shaped Peeps above all else.
Peeps are animal-shaped soft marshmallows rolled in colored sugar with edible wax eyes.
Zippia used Google Trends to determine what Easter treat each state eats the most and defined Easter treats as treats that with higher than average search volume around the Easter holiday. Zippia then determined what treat is searched disproportionately high in each state.
According to Zippia, among the eight states that enjoy Peeps, Idaho enjoyed them most.
