SHREWSBURY - Police in Shrewsbury responded to a 911 call from a residence on Ladyslipper Dr. in Shrewsbury around 7:30 AM on Friday, March 19.

Police located a 49-year-old woman inside the residence that first responders transported to UMass Medical Center. Medical personnel declared the woman dead at the hospital.

Police found the woman’s 12-year-old daughter, also deceased, inside the residence.

According to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early Jr., the medical examiner will perform autopsies of both bodies.

Early declined to comment on a potential cause of death or any suspects in the case.

Investigators believe the woman’s husband made the 911 call. Both the husband and his son were inside the residence at the time of the deaths.

The names of the victims were not being released pending notification of family members outside the country.

Shrewsbury Chief of Police Kevin Anderson said the Police Department did not have a previous awareness of the family.

Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office, Shrewsbury Police and detectives and the State Police Crime Scene Services are investigating the deaths.
