FITCHBURG – Massachusetts State Police [MSP] Troopers arrested 27-year-old Jennifer Cruz on Friday night, Sept. 6, following a motor vehicle stop.

According to MSP, Cruz, of Fitchburg, was held on $15,000 cash bail until her arraignment Monday in Fitchburg District Court.

State troopers assigned to the Troop C Community Action Team (CAT) were on patrol in the area of Columbus St. when they saw a green Honda Accord pass them. The car had extremely dark front windows.

The vehicle turned into the Cumberland Farms Gas Station on Daniels Street where the troopers effected a motor vehicle stop.

Two occupants were inside the vehicle — Cruz and a male driver. According to the MSP, neither Cruz nor the driver could provide the troopers with consistent information and neither appeared to know the other person’s name.

The driver, who was properly licensed, was issued a motor vehicle citation for illegally tinted windows.

Cruz, who was not fastened with a seatbelt, was found to be in possession of two bags of cocaine each weighing 25 grams and two cell phones one of which she broke in half.

Cruz was transported to the Leominster Barracks where she was charged with the following offenses:

  1. Trafficking Class B Substance;
  2. Tampering or Destruction of Evidence
  3. Fail to Wear Safety Belt
