After the workers from the Nahant Department of Public Works and Lynn Animal Control, a crowbar was used to remove the grate.
Fishing the drain with a net, all eight ducklings were removed safely.
Confined in a cardboard box, the Trooper briefly provided some warmth to the ducklings in his cruiser , before placing the ducklings at the edge of the grass where the duck was last seen.
The mother duck immediately came to comfort, then lead all nine of her ducklings off into the grass.
