No After School Program Transportation in Worcester Due to Bus Driver Shortage

WORCESTER – There won’t be any after school program bus transportation for Worcester Public School students due to a bus driver shortage, according to the school district.

In a message from Superintendent Maureen Binienda on Friday, students will be picked up and returned to the same location and will not be dropped off at after school programs.

Binienda says WPS will be monitoring the bus routes over the first few weeks and the district may have to change school starting and ending times to compensate for the driver shortage.

Additionally, there won’t be any transportation for student athletes to practices or games in Worcester during the school week. Transportation outside of the city for games will start at 4:30 PM.
