Nonna’s Restaurant to Close; Brewery to Open in Worcester Ice Center

By Patrick Sargent | August 19, 2019
Last Updated: February 2, 2021

WORCESTER – Although their doors have been shut since April 1 for the summer season, Nonna’s Italian Restaurant inside the Worcester Ice Center will be closing permanently.

The Niche Hospitality-owned fast-casual pizza shop and eatery which opened in late 2017 was expected to re-open for the hockey season on Monday, August 19, but will instead remain closed.

A well-established Massachusetts brewery will be occupying the two-story restaurant space and opening a brewery and restaurant.

ThisWeekinWorcester.com has agreed to withhold the name of the brewery until an official announcement by the brewery is made later in the year.

The announcement of the new brewery/restaurant is the second of its kind in the Canal District area as Wachusett Brewing Co. is set to open the Brew Yard in the soon-to-open Worcester Public Market.

Request for comment from Niche Hospitality ownership wasn’t immediately returned.
