WORCESTER – Ollie’s Bargain Outlet will pay homage to a now-defunct discount store that had made its home for nearly two decades on Grafton Hill in Worcester.
Ollie’s — which will open by the end of the year in South Plaza at 867 Grafton St. — is the first of its chain to open in Massachusetts and will use the Building #19 in its name.
The store will be branded as Ollie’s Bargain Outlet @ Building #19.
Building #19 was at the Grafton St. location for more than a decade before closing in 2011.
In 2003, Building #19 purchased the former Spag’s building on Rt. 9 in Shrewsbury and opened in 2004. The store — re-named Spag’s #19 — closed in May 2013.
