WORCESTER – Police responded to reports of an armed robbery in progress at 507 Main St. on Sunday, Aug. 20. Officers arrived at the scene at around 3 PM to find an employee suffering from stab wounds.
Paramedics transported the wounded man to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police determined that a man in the store was stealing several items when confronted by the employee, who was stabbed While reviewing video of the incident, the Worcester Police Department says its officers recognized Anthony Parrilla, 26, who was arrested near Franklin Street and Harding Street.
Officers learned of a second robbery at the CVS on Front Street. Police say Parrilla entered that store and punched and employee who confronted him over stolen items.
Parrilla faces charges of:
- Armed Robbery;
- Assault with intent to Rob or Murder;
- Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife);
- Unarmed Robbery; and
- Assault and Battery.
