Eligibility for Vaccination Appointments Expands on Thursday

Governor Charlie Baker’s office announced on Wednesday, February 17, those eligible for Phase 2 of COVID-19 vaccination can begin booking appointments to receive the COVID-19 vaccination on Thursday, February 18.

Individuals eligible for Phase 2 are ages 65 and over and those with two or more certain medical conditions

The eligible conditions for Phase 2 vaccination include:

  • Cancer
  • Chronic kidney disease
  • COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)
  • Down Syndrome
  • Heart conditions, such as heart failure, coronary artery disease, or cardiomyopathies
  • Immunocompromised state (weakened immune system) from solid organ transplant
  • Obesity and severe obesity (body mass index [BMI] of 30 kg/m2 or higher)
  • Pregnancy
  • Sickle cell disease
  • Type 2 diabetes mellitus
  • Asthma (moderate-to-severe)
