WORCESTER – The specialty donut craze continues in Worcester and leading the charge week after week is Glazy Susan.
This month, the team at Glazy Susan released their version of pon de ring donuts, or mochi donuts, an Asian style donut made popular in Japan by donut shop Mister Donut.
Glazy Susan’s pon de ring donut is a ring of eight balls made with tapioca flour and is part of their new Mochy by Glazy brand.
Owner Joseph Skrzek told ThisWeekinWorcester.com, “Our pon de ring is another example of one of our core principles and why we even started Glazy Susan. We enjoyed this style of donut on our travels and found that we didn’t have it at home in Worcester. Just as with scratch made specialty donuts, we felt that we deserved to have interesting, unique, and tasty things here in Worcester, so we did it ourselves.
Glazy Susan offers coconut matcha latte and black sesame flavors.
GOOD NEWS: There’s still a chance to get a pon de ring donut before Christmas: Glazy Susan will be offering a special holiday flavor of Mochy in their special order Christmas Eve four-pack this week. Pre-orders go live Wednesday, December 23 at 9 AM and pick-up will take place on Christmas Eve from 10 AM to 12 PM.
After Christmas Eve, Glazy Susan will reopen on Saturday, January 2. Soon, they will also be offering a Glazy Mochy flavor with their signature Glazy Susan vanilla honey glaze.
