Mayor Petty to Host Prayer Service for New President, Nation

WORCESTER – Mayor Joe Petty is hosting a virtual prayer service on Wednesday morning, January 20.

The service — a Day of Hope & Healing for our Nation and New President — will be held at 8 AM on Zoom and on Facebook Live.

The program will open with the national Anthem and Pledge of Allegiance as well as remarks by Mayor Petty.

The following clergy members will be participating and offering prayers:

First Unitarian Church

Belmont AME Zion Church

  • Fr. Richard Trainor

Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church

Rev. Aaron Payson and Rev. Cheryl Leshay from the Unitarian Universalist Church of Worcester will be coordinating technology for the service.
