WORCESTER- Quinsigamond Community College (QCC) has been recognized for its academic rigor and excellence again this year with nominations for two 2018 Bellwether Awards.

QCC Nominated for Two Bellwether Awards 1

According to a release from the college, the Bellwether Awards, granted by the Bellwether College Consortium, “recognize outstanding, innovative programs and practices that are successfully leading community colleges.”

QCC is nominated for its Brothers & Keepers Mentoring Program and its Drone Certificate Program.

The Brothers & Keepers male mentoring initiative, now in its third year, aims to improve the retention and graduation rates of male students through educational, social, and career counseling from peers, faculty, and staff.

The Drone Certificate Program, the first of its kind offered at a Massachusetts community college, prepares students for the Federal Aviation Administration’s Drone Pilot Exam. QCC’s Center for Workforce Development and Continuing Education partnered with DARTdrones, a national drone-training company, to develop the certificate program.
