Two 27-Year-Old Men Arrested on Gun Charges in Worcester

WORCESTER – Police were dispatched to Gardner Street on Sunday in response to reported gunshots, leading to the arrest of two 27-year-old men on gun charges.

Police arrived to a group arguing outside a residence and one man jumping into a pickup truck and driving away. Officers engaged a traffic stop on Canterbury Street leading to the passenger in the truck fleeing on foot, according to the Worcester Police Department. No shooting victim was located at the scene.

Officers apprehended Jamie Ramos, 27, of Leominster, after a foot pursuit, and located a loaded firearm in side the fanny pack he was wearing.

Another officer dispatched to the scene observed Joshua Febles, 27, of Worcester, who police say appeared unsteady on his feet as he tried to run, forcing drivers to slow down to avoid him. An officer stopped to talk to Febles, who said he was trying to get to Gardner Street.

The Worcester Police Department says Febles attempted to push past an officer when an officer felt a heavy object inside the fanny pack he was wearing. The officer found a firearm in side that was later discovered to be stolen.

Ramos faces charges of:

  • Resisting Arrest;
  • Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm;
  • Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License;
  • Possession of a Firearm Without An Fid Card;
  • Carrying a Firearm Without a License;
  • Disorderly Conduct; and
  • Disturbing The Peace.

Febles faces charges of:

  • Receiving Stolen Property;
  • Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm;
  • Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License;
  • Carrying a Loaded Firearm;
  • Possession of Ammunition Without an FID Card; and
  • Disorderly Conduct.

The incident remains under investigation.
