WORCESTER – A series of individuals will rappel down the face of Mercantile Center starting at 11 AM on Saturday, December 11, to support Canines for Disabled Kids [CDK], a Worcester-based non-profit organization.
The first to go over the edge on Saturday is Worcester Bravehearts mascot Jake the Lion at 11 AM. Auburn Selectman Tristan LaLiberte makes the voyage later in the day.
Five individuals went over on Friday, including Mercantile Center building owner Chip Norton.
This unique fundraiser supports the work of CDK, which assists families with assessing their child’s needs and connecting with an appropriate training facility. Its scholarship program supports training costs and CDK staff continued advocacy and support for both the child and service dog.
The non-profit also conducts public education and awareness campaigns across the United States and Canada about service dogs and the positive impact they can have on disabled individuals of all ages.
