In a report released on Monday, Nov. 27, Worcester is ranked as one of the greediest cities in America due to its lack of charitable donations and its share of individuals with gambling problems.

REPORT: Worcester Named One of 'Greediest' Cities in America 1

The report — 2017’s Most Sinful Cities in America —  comes from the data experts at Wallethub and compared 187 cities in America on seven indicators – anger and hatred, jealousy, excesses and vices, greed, lust, vanity and laziness.

Among the cities ranking high in “greed,” Worcester ranked #6. Further, Worcester ranked the highest (worst) out of every city for lowest charitable donations as percentage of income.

Worcester also ranked in the top 50 percent of American cities in the ‘Excesses and Vices’ category.  On the flip side, however, Worcester ranked well (bottom 20 percent) in ‘Vanity’ and ‘Jealousy.’
