We’re all witness to Ricky Duran running down his dream.
On the show’s biggest stage — opening night of The Voice’s finale — Duran opened the show with a rendition of Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers’ “Runnin’ Down a Dream” with an absolute ripping electric guitar solo.
Duran also performed a rockin’ rendition of Chuck Berry’s holiday classic “Run Rudolph Run” with his coach, country music star Blake Shelton and original song, “A Woman Like Her.”
The family and friends of the Grafton native Duran filled Millbury’s Elm Draught House movie theater for a The Voice watch party and to cheer on their favorite Worcester singer.
Last week, Duran secured his place among the final four contestants on The Voice finale with a rock-anthem-like rendering of The Beatles’ “Let it Be.”

More than 200 of Duran’s fans packed the single-screen cinema in Millbury in hopes of ultimately seeing Duran be named ‘The Voice.’
A video of Duran’s “Road to the Finale” was presented at the Elm prior to the finale.
An interview with Duran and Shelton opened the finale, and Shelton said, “Vocally, [Duran] never wavers. There’s been two people since I’ve been involved with The Voice that people ask me the most about — CeeLo [Green] and Ricky Duran.”
