Worcester Trolley Service Announces Purchase of First Trolley

WORCESTER – Worcester trolley service, Ride The Woo, announced Thursday that the company’s first trolley in the planned fleet of six trolleys has been purchased.

As ThisWeekinWorcester.com first reported last April, the downtown trolley service is set to begin service in 2021 — in line with the completion of Polar Park.

“We are proud to announce that we have purchased the first of our six trolley’s that will make up our fleet,” said Aaron Perna, President, Ride The Woo, LLC. “This milestone emphasizes our organization’s dedication to serving Worcester’s downtown business, retail, sports, dining, hospitality and entertainment areas. Ride the Woo continues to innovate and develop alternative transportation solutions for Worcester’s businesses, residents and visitors needs.” 

The proposed trolley service area — with three trolleys heading in one direction, and three trolleys in the other direction — includes the downtown area around City Hall and the Hanover Theatre, to Polar Park and the Canal District and up Water St., up and down Shrewsbury St., around Washington Square, up Major Taylor Blvd to Grove St. to the new Trolley Yard and then down towards restaurants on Highland St and then back downtown.

“This is a big step in our preparation for the launch of service.” said Ben White, Vice President, Ride The Woo, LLC. “We plan to use the first trolley promotionally over the next year to let people look, touch and feel the experience. We will also provide private Trolley charter services for events like weddings, special city events or a group night out on the town.” 

Ride the Woo will take delivery on the Trolley in early March.

1. When you Download the App you will receive 2 free tickets to Ride the Woo.   
2. When you support local businesses, you will be rewarded with more tickets to ride by those businesses as part of loyalty program or other reward program as the business sees fit.
3. Present the App to the Ride The Woo Trolley driver to redeem your ticket to ride.
