SOUTHBRIDGE - Police arrested two men in Southbridge after they allegedly engaged in a drug transaction on Friday, May 19.

Detectives conducted a traffic stop of Josue Rivera-Pabon, 44, of Southbridge, at around 4 PM. Police say they suspected Rivera-Pabon had just conducted a drug transaction with another man.

The Southbridge Police Department says detectives conducted a traffic stop of John Compress, 43, of Leominster. Police say they saw Compress throw a white object onto the ground as they approached the vehicle.

Police say they discovered fentanyl and cocaine packaged for distribution. A digital scale and packaging materials was allegedly found, as well as $1,293 in cash.

Rivera-Pabon and Compres both face charges of distribution of class A Fentanyl and distribution of class B cocaine. Compres was also held on warrants for a previous drug arrest and shoplifting.

Both were held on $3,540 bail and arraigned on Monday in Dudley District Court.
