The Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) has expanded its drop-off registration and titles services from a pilot program at the Braintree Service Center to seven locations across Massachusetts.
The expansion of the program is effective Monday, August 10.
The Milford RMV, at 14 Beach St., is the only location in Worcester County.
The other locations are Boston / Haymarket, Braintree, Chicopee, Haverhill, Taunton and Wilmington.
The pilot program in Braintree began on August 3. Over the first four days of the program, that service center processed 402 drop-off registration transactions with an average turnaround time of two days.
Registration renewals will still only be available online or by mail.
Both individual and commercial customers can process nine different transactions types for casual sales, campers, trailers and motorcycles.
The transaction types available for drop-off service are:
- Register and title a vehicle
- Transfer plate to a new vehicle
- Reinstate a registration
- Apply for a registration only
- Transfer a plate between two vehicles
- Register previously titled vehicle
- Transfer vehicle to surviving spouse
- Registration amendments
- Plate cancellations
Services for some 40 transaction types are available online, by mail or over the phone. Visit the RMV website for more information.
