WORCESTER – Christmas has come early for donut fans in Worcester.
Specialty doughnut shop, Rocco’s Doughnut Company — with locations in Millbury and Westborough — announced it will be opening its third shop at an undisclosed location in Worcester in early 2022, according to Spectrum News 1.
Their social media announcement simply reads “Woo-Town. Coming early 2022,” with an image of the seal of the City of Worcester and the Rocco’s logo.
Rocco’s opened up their first shop in Millbury in early 2018, and quickly opened up there Westborough shop the following year.
On Tuesday night, Rocco’s held a giveaway for $25 gift cards asking their social media followers to guess where they were opening up their next shop. More than 400 people commented on their Facebook post with guesses and celebratory words of encouragement.
Rocco’s current doughnut menu features fall favorites like apple cider, pumpkin muffin, and pumpkin cannoli, as well as their year-round favorites like Fruity Pebbles, Cinnamon Toast Crunch and cookies and cream.
Last year, Rocco’s was named the third-overall best donut in Massachusetts, out of 71 nominated donut shops in Taste of Massachusetts’ Donut Championship 2020.
