Crime scene blurred law enforcement and forensic background

WORCESTER – Late Tuesday night, the Worcester Police were called to the area  of Strands Ski Shop on West Boylston Dr. for a single-vehicle, rollover accident.

According to the Worcester Police Department [WPD], around 11:45 PM on Tuesday, Oct. 1, officers arrived to the scene of the accident to find a sedan flipped onto its roof and the driver and passenger of the vehicle lying outside of the car.

The driver of the car – a male – was unconscious. The female passenger was conscious but shaken up. Both individuals were taken to the hospital by ambulance to be treated for their injuries.

The WPD Crash Reconstruction Unit [CRU] was called to investigate the crash. The CRU’s initial investigation shows that the operator lost control of the vehicle in the left lane, causing the car to leave the roadway and flip onto its roof.

At this time, the investigation indicates that speed was a factor in the crash.

The incident is still under investigation.
