WORCESTER – Russo Italian Kitchen, at 65 Water St., announced over the weekend that it will close this month. Its final dinner service will be Oct. 26.
Ed Russo, 60, the owner of Russo’s since it opened in 2019, will retire from the restaurant industry after the closure. Russo also owned Lock 50 Restaurant and Wine Bar since it opened in 2016 until he sold the business in 2023. Lock 50 has since closed.
Russo announced the closing on social media, saying, “It’s a difficult and emotional decision to say goodbye, one that was not made easily.”
He also said the recipes for the dishes the restaurant served “were passed down from my grandparents”, and that he “was blessed and honored to share them with our guests.”
