WORCESTER – The Massachusetts Nursing Association [MNA] announced on Wednesday, July 21, that the mediator from the federal government has scheduled two days of meeting between the union and management of Tenet Healthcare, which operates Saint Vincent Hospital.

Both sides met last on July 9. MNA says that was the first time both sides met, in-person, in 15 months. Thursday is day 137 of the strike that began on March 8.

MNA says the scheduled meetings are 10 AM to 5 PM on both Thursday, July 22, and Friday, July 23, at Saint Vincent Hospital. MNA also says it intends to present a comprehensive proposal during the meetings.

As ThisWeekinWorcester.com previously reported, members of the Massachusetts Congressional Delegation sent a letter to Tenet CEO Ron Rittenmeyer on June 29. The letter, signed by Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Sen. Ed Markey and Rep. James McGovern and Rep. Lori Trahan, asked pointed questions about Tenet’s use of public and COVID-19 relief funds.

Tenet has yet to release its response to the letter. It previously released its response letters to members of Congress. The last response Tenet released was its response dated June 11.
