WORCESTER – Shaw’s Supermarket, at 14 West Boylston St. in Worcester, is holding a promotion throughout June that benefits the Meals on Wheels program by the Elder Services of Worcester Area.
Throughout June, the Elder Services of Worcester Area will receive $1 from every purchase of a “give back where it counts” bag for $3 at the West Boylston Street Shaw’s.
The Meals on Wheels program is a national nutritional program that is federally sponsored to deliver meal to homebound individuals who are at least 60 years old. Elder Services of Worcester Area is the local administrator of the program for Auburn, Barre, Boylston, Grafton, Hardwick, Holden, Leicester, Millbury, New Braintree, Oakham, Paxton, Rutland, Shrewsbury, West Boylston, and Worcester.
The program delivers hot lunches Monday through Friday and includes regular hot meals, modified meals for diabetics, supper meals and frozen meals, depending upon the need of each individual.
