SHREWSBURY – The Shrewsbury Police Department is searching for a suspect that robbed the Avidia Bank on Maple Avenue early Friday evening.
According to the Shrewsbury PD, police responded to a call for a bank robbery just before 5:30 PM to the Avidia location. When officers arrived, they found the suspect had already fled the scene on foot.
With assistance from the Uxbridge PD K-9 and Shirley Dept. of Corrections K-9, officers searched the area for several hours to no avail.
Police have determined that the suspect — pictured above — entered the bank and demanded money. The suspect didn’t show a weapon or note to the teller. The suspect fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.
The suspect is described as wearing a green or gray winter jacket with a hood with fur on it, black gloves, black ski mask, blue jeans and black boots.
No one was injured during the robbery.
