SHREWSBURY – A Shrewsbury Police Officer working a traffic detail sustained injuries during the morning of Wednesday, June 30, after being struck by a vehicle.
The officer was in the roadway at Hartford Turnpike (Rt. 20) and Lake Street around 9:45 AM when the incident occurred. Along with additional officers, the Shrewsbury Fire Department and Worcester EMS responded to the scene.
EMS transported the officer to UMass Memorial University Campus. Shrewsbury Police announced on Wednesday afternoon that the officer was released from the hospital.
The investigating into the incident is ongoing.
