Linda Le, 42, of Shrewsbury, pleaded guilty to perjury on Friday, February 5, for lying in testimony she gave before a grand jury in 2018 an 2019.
Le testified in May 2018 and March 2019 that she did not know anyone involved with Worcester-based employment agency UT services. She also testified she knew nothing about the company and had no role with it.
According to prosecutors, Le assisted in the transition of several client companies from another employment agency to UT Services.
Le also allegedly performed various accounting and invoicing services for the company in late 2017 and early 2018, while being compensated in cash.
A grand jury indicted Tam Vuong in August of 2019 on fraud and tax charges in connection with his oversight of UT Services and Prime Labor, another Worcester-based employment agency.
Vuong’s trial will begin on September 7.
The charges against Le, lying to a grand jury, provides for a sentence of up to five years in prison.
Le’s sentencing hearing is May 25.
