SHREWSBURY – A new app released on Wednesday, April 14, enables Shrewsbury residents to communicate with the Police Department in real-time.
The “See it, Say It, Send It” platform enables users to submit “tips” or relevant information from the application to the Shrewsbury Police Communications Center. It also allows users to identify themselves or send information anonymously.
The app also enables the Department to communicate with users for follow up information or to provide information on how officials addressed the issue.
The app is equipped with geo-fencing technology that enables outbound messaging to users based on geographic location. If a user is approaching an area where there is a relevant alert, users receive direct notification. Two examples given by the department are a missing person or a water main break.
