WORCESTER – One of Worcester’s own from Shrewsbury St.’s “Restaurant Row” will be appearing on Food Network’s popular culinary skills reality television show, “Chopped” on Tuesday.
Erin Hockey, of Quincy, is a chef at American-Korean restaurant Simjang — 72 Shrewsbury St. — and will be appearing on the “Chopped” episode “Meat Your Match” — Tuesday, March 5 at 9 PM.

The episode is described by the Food Network as: “Four female butchers battle it out for a shot at $10,000; in round one, the butchers must break down a large piece of beef; fresh chickpeas prove time consuming; in the third round, they show off their butcher skills on a savory ingredient.”
According to a Facebook post, Simjang will have the episode on at the restaurant with the sound on and encourages all to come down “and huddle around the big screen to cheer on our girl! Come hang with us and Erin, we’ll eat fried chicken and slurp on noodles.”
