Suspect in Shrewsbury Stabbing Arrested in Sturbridge

SHREWSBURY - Police announced on Saturday, May 1, the arrest of a suspect in a stabbing on Wednesday, April 28.

Combined efforts by the Shrewsbury Police, Massachusetts State Police and Sturbridge Police led to the arrest of Carlos Gonzalez, 51, of Worcester, at a hotel in Sturbridge on Friday, April 30.

Gonzales faces charges of Assault and Battery on a family member, Assault and Battery with a dangerous weapon, and strangulation.

The stabbing on Wednesday at Extra Space Storage on Clinton St. in Shrewsbury, left a woman seriously injured and hospitalized. Investigators believe the weapon was a broken glass tube.
