WORCESTER – The National Weather Service [NWS] has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Worcester area beginning tonight and lasting into Thursday morning.

According to NWS, the advisory will last 12 hours – 7 PM Wednesday to 7 AM Thursday — and calls for two inches of snow to fall followed by rain which will result in one-tenth of an inch of ice on the ground. Mixed precipitation will occur from 9 PM to 1 AM.

NWS warns that slippery roads on Thursday morning could make for hazardous conditions and could affect the early morning commute in Worcester.
