One Dead, Another Injured in Pedestrian Crash in Worcester

WORCESTER – A pedestrian involved crash near James Street on Tuesday, Sept. 17, left one woman dead, and another hospitalized.

Police responded to a report of a serious crash near Clover Street and South Ludlow Street shortly before 10 PM.

Upon arrival at the scene, police located two female victims and provided medical aid until EMS arrived and transferred both women to a local hospital.

One of the victims, a 35-year-old woman, was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The other woman suffered less serious injuries.

According to the preliminary investigation by the Worcester Police Department Crash Reconstruction Team, the two woman were crossing the street when a vehicle traveling south on South Ludlow Street, towards Auburn, struck them. The vehicle continued on to strike another vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation.
