SOUTHBRIDGE – Revel Pedro Rivera, 42, of Southbridge, was indicted by a federal grand jury on Thursday, September 18, for attempted possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine.
ThisWeekInWorcester.com reported Rivera’s arrest in July.
Federal agents intercepted a package containing a kilogram of cocaine shipped to Rivera in July 2020 and replaced it with a counterfeit substance.
After Rivera accepted delivery of the package, law enforcement arrested him after he left the property.
Rivera faces a mandatory minimum of five years, and up to 40 years in federal prison.
