St. Mary’s Schools in Worcester to Close Monday Due to Coronavirus Exposure

WORCESTER – St. Mary’s Schools in Worcester will be closed on Monday, March 9 after school administration discovered a family member of a school staff member has been exposed to someone who has tested positive for the coronavirus.

In a statement released to faculty and staff members, St. Mary’s said, “This exposure occurred seven days ago at an out-of-state conference. Neither the family member, nor the St. Mary’s staff member are experiencing symptoms at this time.”

According to St. Mary’s, the staff member will self-quarantine and administration will discuss the situation with the Massachusetts Department of Health to ensure the proper measures will be taken before re-opening. 

St. Mary’s is a Pre-K through grade 12 school at 50 Richland St. in Worcester.
