WORCESTER – A 22-year-old man was seriously injured after being stabbed during a fight on Oread St. in Worcester on Wednesday night.
According to the Worcester Police Dept. [WPD], 37-year-old Steven Jenkins of 14 Oread St. was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, and Armed Assault to Murder.
Around 9 PM, officers patrolling the Main South neighborhood noticed a group of 15 to 20 people coming from a parking lot of a dwelling. Some individuals in the group were carrying the male victim who was suffering from stab wounds
The male was rushed to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries. His injuries are considered serious but he is expected to survive.
Witnesses told police that the stabbing occurred when a fight broke out between the victim and Jenkins.
During the investigation, police located Jenkins at the scene.
