OXFORD – On Tuesday, 25-year-old Eliezer Delvalle of Webster was arrested on 395 North in Oxford for illegally possessing a firearm and four other charges following a traffic stop.
According to the Massachusetts State Police [MSP], Trooper Steven LaRocco assigned to the Sturbridge Barracks, stopped a black Toyota Corolla for operating without a front license plate.
Trooper LaRocco could smell marijuana and saw a plastic package on the lap of Delvalle, a passenger in the backseat of the vehicle.
All three passengers were told to exit the vehicle and each passenger was searched. Police found 38 Oxycodone pills and a Springfield Armory 9mm semi-automatic firearm with 14 rounds of ammunition in the magazine on Delvalle.
Delvalle does not legally possess a Massachusetts License to Carry a Firearm. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Sturbridge Barracks for booking and where bail was set $500.00.
He was arraigned in Dudley District Court and charged on the following offenses:
- Unlawful Carrying a Loaded Firearm;
- Possession of a Firearm;
- Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device;
- Possession of Ammunition without FID Card;
- Possession of Class B; and was issued a Massachusetts civil citation for Open Container of Marijuana in a Motor Vehicle.
The driver and front passenger were identified and released with civil motor vehicle citations.
