Earlier this week, a 21-year-old Fitchburg man was arrested for possession of heroin and cocaine after being stopped by a Massachusetts State Police [MSP] trooper on Main St. in Fitchburg.

According to the MSP, on Tuesday, Aug. 20 around 5:20 PM, troopers Justin Burd, Michael Coflesky and Christian Wolferserder were on patrol on Main Street when they observed a black Jeep Grand Cherokee fail to stop at the intersection of Pearl and Blossom Streets.

There were two occupants in the car — including the rear passenger, 21-year-old Christian Pierce.

When the car came to a stop, Pierce opened the door and fled.

All three troopers chased after Pierce on foot and were able to detain him as he attempted to climb a six-foot fence near the intersection of Ryefield Avenue.

1. Possession to Distribute Class A;

2. Possession to Distribute Class B; and

3. Failure to Wear Seat Belt.

Police seized approximately 16 grams of cocaine and 12 grams of heroin from Pierce. He was to be arraigned in Fitchburg District Court on Wednesday.
