Massachusetts State Police [MSP] have received reports of residents across the state receiving fundraising calls for various police related causes.
MSP is warning resident that it has no current fundraisers and residents should not give these callers any money or personal information.
In fact, MSP does not make solicitation calls via telephone for any reason.
In a Facebook post today, MSP advised that before donating to any cause based on a phone call, residents should verify the legitimacy of the organization with the Massachusetts Secretary of State’s Corporation Division.
